Betzalel Wolff is the only clinician in Toronto who is trained and licensed to administer and interpret the Abel Assessment. The Abel Assessment is a very advanced psychological test  which is designed to objectively measure a client’s sexual interests and obtain information regarding involvement in a number of abusive or problematic sexual behaviours.  The Abel is used as part of the evaluation of individuals accused or convicted of sexual offences against children. Some of the items which are evaluated by the Abel  include the assessment of dangerousness, risk for recidivism, involuntary commitment, inclusion in a  sex offender registry, competency, and criminal responsibility.

The Abel Assessment consists of two parts, both of which are done on a computer. Once the assessment has been completed, the information is transmitted to Abel Screening for processing and then back to the clinician for interpretation. Although there is no set amount of time for taking the Abel, it will generally take clients approximately two hours to complete both parts.
